A Dektas Throwback: Pete Rose – “How can they even get in on the talk or even form an opinion?”

Years ago, when Pete Rose was in the height of his career, Mike Dektas (President of Creative Storm) and Michel Keidel (Creative Storm Broadcast Director) produced a commercial for Gold Star Chili that turned out to be a classic. Pete always was a super competitive person, so when the director asked him “who has the best chili in Cincinnati,” Pete answered in what could be called Petegenese: “How can they even get in on the talk or even form an opinion?”

As cameras continued to roll, Pete came up with a theme line that many Cincinnatians picked up on: “Dem dogs are go-o-od!!!”
